Introduction

This is a CoP community is built around leadership and teaching. I see leadership as an important part of growth and development of our young people. Whether strong and outgoing or a quiet and reflective, all students should know the basics of what it means to lead a group. I believe that giving students leadership opportunities engages them in their community leading to stronger and better learning opportunities.
I'm interested in sharing how others run student leadership opportunities and being a clearinghouse for developmentally appropriate activities for students.

From TED.com: "The TED Talk on the right from Kiran Bir Sethi shows how her groundbreaking Riverside School in India teaches kids life's most valuable lesson: "I can." Watch her students take local issues into their own hands, lead other young people, even educate their parents."

This is what I believe student leadership does for students. It empowers them to solve world problems and become "I can" citizens.

If you blog, tweet, or post any social media around this CoP, please use the #studentleaders hash tag.
